The thickened waterproof surface is fabricated from a tear-resistant polypropylene blend. During transplanting, the mat captures fallen soil, broken bark, and perlite, preventing them from scattering onto floors. The green colour reduces visual fatigue under bright indoor lighting. After completing repotting tasks, the user can gather the four corners to funnel soil back into a storage bag or compost bin, minimising waste. The mat folds along pre-formed creases into a 40 cm by 40 cm square, secured by attached hook-and-loop straps.
